August WPA Giveaway!

by Amy@AQ-V on August 2, 2009

Well, it’s a brand new month so why not a brand new giveaway! Due to their great popularity, I have decided to offer up another fine art print of a Vintage 1930’s WPA Postercreated by the people, for the people as part of President Roosevelt’s New Deal. This print is one of my personal favorites. The illustration and hand lettering are wonderfully crisp and stylized and the colors are fantastic… a great mix of deep midnight blue, light olive/chartreuse green, peach and brown-mauve.

Ewwww…Ahhhh…like this one, too. If I don’t win I’m going to purchase one of these as a wedding gift for my cousin who went to college in Montana and said it was just beautuful. :)

Are there poster of other states? I’d love to have one for VA.

Jake August 3, 2009 at 6:11 pm

Thanks again for a great giveaway!

Amy@AQ-V August 3, 2009 at 6:41 pm

MG: I wish there were more posters of other states that survived. So many have been lost altogether. But it warrants some more digging to see what else I can find. I have come across a ton of Pennsylvania related posters plus Chicago and NY. The SEE AMERICA series is mostly focused out west and/or our national parks. Some real beauties in the mix!

EVERYONE: Thanks for entering! :~)

I think WPA art was the beginning of prints and posters as a modern, genuine art form rather than just as a ‘copy.’ I love the whole style!
