Above is a true typographic gem from the 1967 International and Universal Exposition or Expo 67 held in Montréal, Quebec via the fantastic Fairs & Expos kodachrome flickr set of art director/designer Jasper Edmund (aka ElectroSpark). Additional Expo 67 fever can be found at Expo 67 Lounge. Wikipedia reports “(Expo 67) was considered to be the most successful World’s Fair of the 20th century, with over 50 million visitors and 62 nations participating. It also set the single-day attendance record for a world’s fair with 569,000 visitors on its third day.” This is particularly impressive since the prospect of hosting a world’s fair was not met with widespread support by Canadians initially. Expo 67 coincided with Canada’s centennial celebration.
