Catacumba Pro
by Fountain at Veer

Six-weight Catacumba Pro was inspired by the painted inscriptions of the Igreja de São Francisco church’s catacombs in Porto, Portugal. The forms are clearly influenced by Victorian style, with an unmistakable French heritage, and yet they somehow convey a decidedly Portuguese sensibility.

Rui Abreu is a Portuguese type/graphic designer. He studied Graphic Design at FBAUP (Faculdade de Belas Artes da Universidade do Porto), where he graduated in 2003. He has been working as an interactive media designer for various design/advertisement agencies in addition to working on his type design activity. In 2008 he launched RTYPE, a typography showcase to promote his work.
