TWA Travel Tips 1960.

by Amy@AQ-V on January 4, 2010

My eyes lit up when I recently discovered a packet of three fairly pristine 1960 TWA travel books at a local shop. The covers are notably miniature mid-century travel posters. Seen above are not only the covers but also the inside cover and sample illustrations from the Swiss booklet. No design or illustration credit unfortunately. I have a hunch who may have created this artwork but need to research it a bit further. If you have a hunch, would certainly love to hear.

Good find! I love this kind of art from the jet age; it makes me nostalgic, albeit for a time before I was born—is there a better word for that? :)

I posted some nice aviation-themed illustration myself a while back; please take a look!

Thanks you guys! Ha Mark, much easier to romanticize a time before we were born, eh? I’m with you on that. :~) Ace post, thanks for sharing your link!

Thanks for sharing these! You have a keen eye for finds such as these. I particularly like the B&W pair: History and Geography & Climate and General Information.

Nice finds Amy. That G in the word Portugal is very distinctive.
