Illustrations by Swiss illustrator/author Willi Baum from a 1972 edition of The Young America (short stories collection). I recently picked up this hardback book at the thrift solely because of these fantastic works. Finding solid biographical information about Mr. Baum via a quick and not so quick internet search has been rather unfruitful. I have found incomplete listings of his books and not much more. But I’m on it and have a few more leads which will require more time. I plan to get my hands on more of Mr. Baum’s work and feature it in upcoming posts so be on the lookout. On BfK, Eric Hadley rightly asks, “What ever happened to Willi Baum?”

p.s. It has been an extra woolly week around here. Many loose ends still on the loose, so best tie them up and cut the blog week short. I look forward to being back with you on Monday. Expect a fresh mix of great work as I have more amazing creatives lined up for you next week including a terrific interview with award-winning illustrator and author Carin Berger for one.
Have an excellent weekend, you guys!
