Above is another installment of superb vintage poster design via the London Transport Museum, a fantastic resource for both vintage and contemporary works. See my 1960s highlights here and 1950s highlights here.
Reminder:
If you find yourself in the London area I strongly encourage you to see the LT Museum firsthand. Their current exhibit is titled Surburbia: from homes to gnomes, how public transport shaped the suburbs. It is open until March 31st, 2010.
Visit the museum website for more information. While there, don’t miss their new online film collection, circa 1910–1970. Follow the London Transport Museum on Twitter (@ltmuseum).

The variety of graphic styles represented in these posters is amazing.
Great post. Agreed, the London Transport museum is fantastic, one of my favourites!
London Transport is well known for commissioning contemporary artists to do posters for them, so there often is a really vibrant and eclectic mix.
Such a wonderfully broad spectrum of styles. Thanks for sharing this!
Wow, I had missed this post! Wonderful designs, and a special thanks for introducing me to Harry Stevens. The Games tiger is also a favorite of mine which I have been saving for animalarium…
