Rita Sá was born in Lisbon, Portugal, where she earned her B.A. and Licenciatura degree in painting, from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Universidade de Lisboa. She’s a 2009 graduate from the MFA Computer Art department of SVA, where she studied under a joint scholarship from the Gulbenkian Foundation and Luso-American Foundation. In 2006, her collaborative work Wordsong-Pessoa was awarded best hybrid project—gathering image, music and sound, by the Portuguese Multimedia Awards. Most recently she has exhibited at the Westside Gallery, New York and SIGGRAPH Asia 2009 Art Gallery, Yokohama.
