01. Chrysler 300 – Venice, California
Los Angeles based photographer Kevin Gray has created a superb collection of Americana automobile imagery. I have highlighted a few of my personal favorites above and below. Be sure to make the jump to see an additional three photographs.
Kevin’s photographs are available for purchase either as single prints or as a book set which you see above. The book (first edition of 50) includes 64 photographs and a signed+numbered 8 x10″ print. Nice.

A whiplash of sorts from last week’s mid-century modern to now a contemporary country music icon in just one fell swoop. I really would hate for you to find this blog too predictable and therefore I must bring you Willie Nelson, a man who is certainly embedded in the American fabric. At the very top is a fantastic collage piece from Nashville based, nationally award-winning illustrator Wayne Brezinka who has quite a nice client roster. You’re looking at the final pick for a Best of album cover coming down the pike from Lost Highway Records. On his blog, Wayne elaborates that this album has some “power punch” guest artist’s like Lucinda Williams, Diana Krall and Elvis Costello. Mmm yeah. The album is coming out August 11th. Next is a clever handcrafted pillow from the gals at Spruce in Austin who prove they know how to successfully mix their modern sensibilities with a Texas legend. And last but not least, is a great Nashville photography card set with Willie and more by Photo Sho.

Well, it’s a brand new month so why not a brand new giveaway! Due to their great popularity, I have decided to offer up another fine art print of a Vintage 1930’s WPA Poster… created by the people, for the people as part of President Roosevelt’s New Deal. This print is one of my personal favorites. The illustration and hand lettering are wonderfully crisp and stylized and the colors are fantastic… a great mix of deep midnight blue, light olive/chartreuse green, peach and brown-mauve.
