This week’s installment of AQ-V Thinkspace represents what I hope to see more of in this new group. The conceptual imagery above comes via the very talented young artist Joe Riley who is currently pursuing a fine arts degree at prestigious, history rich Cooper Union in New York City.
Per Joe’s description, this project was one of his first assignments at Cooper. “The prompt was: ‘Draw a line and follow it. Repeat 29 times.’ This concept comes from American composer and musician, La Monte Young.”
I am thrilled to have the inclusion of conceptual work like Joe’s taking up residence in the group alongside the largely literal forms of “think/workspaces” and would love to see more out of the box thinking like this to broaden the scope of the group. I plan to create an additional post next week with further examples. Both literal and conceptual thinkspace imagery are welcome.
