Ernest Hemingway series | book covers
by Ada Rotenberg
The challenge of designing a group of covers for Hemingway’s titles was to position them as a series, create a familiar graphic image to express the concise and strong style of writing, make each volume seem unique, and present Hemingway as a dominant personality akin to some of his characters. For the solution, a divided composition was devised. The upper part is a photo of Hemingway taken by Yousef Karsch (Karsch of Ottawa); the lower part where a color changes from volume to volume is an illustration based on the plot of the book. The contrast between traditional photography and personal and spontaneous illustrations expresses the psychological complexity of the characters and the writing.

Yitzhak Rabin’s Memorial Day | poster
by Nadav Barkan
This is a poster honoring Yitzhak Rabin’s 12th Memorial Day. This year the Memorial Day was clouded by the circumcision of the son of Ygal Amir, Rabin’s assassin. The image of a baby stroller with a tank’s turret and the soft pink background emphasizes the impossible, which has turned into the Israeli reality. The title “strollers”, which in Hebrew slang renders “good-for-nothing”, is intended also for the legal system and the media, which made this dual event possible.

Azrieli Mall | parking cards
by Irit Adar
The design created a hierarchy in reading and regulation in the parking lot. The logo is the reference point for the design decisions. The dark color and the typography give it an old, heavy look, so we meant to create a fresher language, taking the logo into consideration and combining it in the general design. The part that cannot be used for text was used for differentiation with the Azrieli Towers illustration. A series of additional, reduced price cards was also designed.

Igloo | branding for ice cream parlor chain
by Anna Gaslev, Yotam Bezalel
In the naming and branding of this ice cream parlor chain, which brought to Israel a method for preparing personal ice cream, we used a graphic language that stems from the values we wished the brand to acquire: experimenting, internationality, individualism and innovation. The changing colors of the elements and the fact that the graphic language has many elements express the value of individualism, empower the experience in the stores, provide a fresh feeling of sweetness and fun and project an innovative concept.

Tic-Tac-Toe
by Shahar Peleg, Peleg Design
The “Noughts & Crosses” (Tic-Tac-Toe) game consists of a mirror-polished stainless steel board on which the pieces of the game are placed. The pieces are made of laser-cut Perspex, black or transparent. Each one is actually only half a piece (half an O or half an X). When a piece is placed on the mirror, the reflection creates a whole piece.
