great images! I love Frasconi, and I’ve never seen any of Eric Carle’s non-children’s book work. For Frankie Yankovic’s Polka Party — it looks a little like Naiad Einsel. Very pared down, but still Naiad-y.

I’ve never known of Eric Carle’s other artwork, either! Very familiar with all his children’s books, as a former kindergarten teacher and current mom :)

Thanks you guys for the comments! And yes, Carle’s other work is definitely much less known. Was uncanny I found this same album twice in one day.

Maral, thank you for the Einsel tip. You’re right, this work indeed shares characteristics with Naiad’s. And ditto on Frasconi, love his woodcuts… need to feature more. :)

Very retro-trendy collection of cover images. Thanks for keeping the visual landscape alive and well for all us visual types! .. and happy to run across your blog. Cheers.

Frankie Yankovic’s polka party is indeed by Walter and Naiad Einsel. They’re just wonderful!
