Props to TRSG, as this striking packaging ensemble will be published in an upcoming issue of the prestigious Communication Arts design publication.

Bold City Brewery | Branding & Packaging Design

The Robin Shepherd Group created a main logo for the brewery and also designed separate logos and beer taps for each ale. Incorporating the Jacksonville skyline and unique quirks of the brewery and the city, illustrated subjects include Duke, the resident brew hound, an injured and vengeful manatee from the nearby St. Johns River, and “Killer Whale,” the Brew Master’s childhood nickname.

Does Not Compute + Spontaneous Combustion | 18″ x 24″ Anniversary Posters
(available for purchase)

Last year I was privileged to make acquaintance with Tom Schifanella, Senior VP/Executive Creative Director at The Robin Shepherd Group, an award-winning, full service ad agency dually based in Jacksonville, Florida and Atlanta, Georgia. Above you see top notch work selected from TRSG’s creative portfolio—a mixture of remarkable branding, packaging and poster design. The Bold City project created for a local Jacksonville brewery has received several, well-deserved accolades. Read more about the project here.

Per TRSG’s website, they state their mission is to “to save the world from the bland and boring, pedestrian and ineffective marketing that threatens to numb consumers to death on a daily basis.” I’d say they are doing a mighty fine job as they celebrate their 26th anniversary this year.

I first learned of Tom via his amazing vintage luggage label site, Art of the Luggage Label. And subsequently was honored to highlight a portion of the vast collection last September with another featured batch of vintage labels coming soon to AQ-V so please stay tuned.

Great illustration with lots of themes running. especially the religious aspect, and the iconic theme. I only joined this blog a couple of weeks back (forgot how I run into it :)) and really enjoy it. How do you pull all this information?

The Cummer Museum examples are superb!!
Some sad pangs on seeing the Manatee label with the prop. Poor manatees. Maybe they’ll evolve BIG teeth and torpedoes soon?? wink!
Thanks for sharing all of this good work.
