Classic to quirky mid-century fashion shot by LIFE magazine photographers Paul Schutzer (1930–1967) and Bill Ray (1936–) respectively. Mr. Schutzer died a mere 5 years later embedded with Israeli troops while on assignment covering the Six-Day War. Visit Time’s photo essay tribute entitled A Photographer’s Last Assignment. Mr. Schutzer is most well known for his 1965 LIFE cover for The Blunt Reality of War in Vietnam.
