Okay, I admit I am a female who has minimal interest in fashion but these visual works most assuredly caught by eye. A personal favorite, UK illustrator/animator Lesley Barnes has authored a dynamic and unconventional collection of haute couture imagery. These illustrations were commissioned by Amelia Gregory exclusively for Amelia’s Magazine and her new book, Amelia’s Compendium of Fashion Illustration. It is available for purchase here. Lesley and 29 other illustrators are included in the publication which highlights several ethical fashion designers including Christopher Raeburn and Lu Flux. Lesley is a young woman I really admire for being terrifically long on vision with a keen sense of visual movement, pattern play and color. It has been a treat following and spotlighting her work since 2009 and as always I look forward to seeing more.
