Utterly brilliant and grin-worthy commercial spot by Jonathan Gurvit for Santander Bank. Jonathan is Creative Director and Head of Art at the Buenos Aires branch of international advertising giant Ogilvy & Mather. This piece represents his directorial film debut which makes it even more impressive, yes.
The project concept and execution are so very smart down to the last detail—beautiful timing, cinematography and special effects. It communicates quite effectively without words giving it multi-lingual muscle. The spot has been awarded in both the FIAP (Ibero-American Ad Festival) and Sol de San Sabastian in Spain.
I first came across this piece when fellow art director/designer Rajesh Pancholi, posted Jonathan’s clever commercial a few weeks back. And then serendipitously Jonathan contacted me about it.
Jonathan tells me it is uncommon in Argentina for agency people to direct their own projects but he was confident to do so. He worked with production and post-production studios ELEI and Bleed VFX respectively. Overall, it represents a 2 month project from start to finish.
Again, brilliant work.
