An impromptu post as we head into the weekend. I wish I could find out more about this series of images for LIFE magazine—the scientific event, context and the year. Only sketchy information is listed in the photo archives and nothing yet is coming back via my search query of vintage LIFE magazines. Regardless, a striking black and white image by H. Walker to be admired.
