MOT is a multi-disciplinary design studio based in Barcelona, Spain; it was founded by Laia Clos in 2006. Working with a variety of clients, MOT’s projects range from small private commissions to public corporate identities and large publications.

Recently, MOT launched TOM Edicions to serve as a platform for the development and production of self-initiated work such as the project you see highlighted here, Lesquatrestacions (The Four Seasons).

Lesquatrestacions refers to the musical composition of the composer, Antonio Vivaldi. It is essentially a graphic interpretation of the four violin concertos that make this baroque masterpiece. To create Lesquatrestacions, we have designed a prototype SisTeMu—a graphic notation system which looks at interpreting musical texture.

The four Lesquatrestacions posters—which form a part of a larger ongoing project—are the first products to be sold on the TOM Edicions online store. Each poster represents the entire translation of one concerto—one season—played by the lead violin. Currently we are developing the SiSteMu software, meanwhile working on the launch of an exhibition as well as developing publications and products soon to be released.
